Egyptian beliefs were an abundant theme in the artwork of the time. Most of what was depicted was the gods and their powers (i.e. Anubis weighing the hearts of the dead on a scale against a feather); but because the king of Egypt was held in such high regard, there would also be artwork glorifying him. Some artwork would also display rituals that would be held, like embalming rituals, and then depict what the Egyptians believed would happen in their lives after death.

I agree with juicebox. The Egyptians also liked to glorify their gods. (what culture doesn't right?) They were usually drawn at a very large scale and were holding something of symbolic importance. (like the ankh) Most of the time the gods were portraying something that to do with the afterlife. Maybe painting the gods in that matter made the Egyptians feel better about death.

I think that Egyptian art thrived from leaders that cared for there people. So the people of Egypt would do any thing for there king and queen. The people of egypt would make art work of there past and thing they have conquered. Art work would be so show there spritial ways of life to teach there children when the get older. All of there art work was to show the world what they have accomplished in there lives. Art work was there way of life.
