How was Stonehenge constructed? What are speculations about its possible function?

Juicebox Spider said...: Stonehenge was constructed for ceremonial purposes, using large rocks gathered from a mountain range nearly 240 miles from where they stand now. Each stone weighed approx. 25 tons, and were floated on rafts downstream for the majority of their journey. It is believed that Stonehenge is part ritual structure, and part observatory. It has the capacity to determine the dates of equinoxes and solstices; as well as being a ritualistic site to celebrate solar and lunar bodies.

visionthex said...: The stonehenge was constructed for only one purpose and that was to be used for ceremonial usage. They would have ceremonies of church or sprital guidness. Some times they would have sicrafices of animals or humans for there god. The large stones were used to trap sound in and make the voice that needed to heard.
